Selecting a patient by name

Finding a patient by name, or portions of either the first or last names provides a few options that vary depending on whether or not the AutoSearch box is checked on.

When AutoSearch is NOT checked, entering any portion of the patient’s name in any of the formats shown in figure 9, followed by hitting the Enter key on the keyboard, will bring up all patients in ChiroSuiteEHR that match the entry. For example, if the patient’s name is John Smith, his account could be located by typing one of the formats shown in figure 9 into the Name field of the Front Desk window followed by hitting the Enter key on the keyboard.

Note that an asterisk (*) may be entered in the Name field as a wildcard to match all entries. For example, by entering c* in the Name field, all patients with a last name beginning with the letter “c” will be listed. If the entry was /c* then the system will list all patients with a first name beginning with the letter “c”. The more letters that are typed in, the smaller the list will be, making it easier to find a specific patient.
