The Provider box lists all the Providers in the practice and is most useful in practices that have more than one provider. This list is populated automatically by the active Providers in the Provider Catalog. Once a specific modality of treatment has been selected, the Provider that performed the service can be attached to that item. In a multi-provider multi-disciplinary practice in which different Providers perform specific services on the same visit, this feature enables the identification in the SOAP note of which Provider actually performed each modality. AFTER the Modality(ies) have been selected and entered for the patient, click on a Modality in the Therapy box on the left. Once the Modality has been selected and highlighted, select the Provider from the drop down box. The name of the Provider will appear in the Details column for that Modality.
To remove the Provider from the Modality, click on and highlight the Modality in the Therapy box, and then click on the blank space in the Provider drop down.
There is also the option to leave the Provider open (blank) by clicking on the blank space at the top of the drop down list. This is appropriate in small, single Provider practices in which there is only one Provider that performs all the services. It is also the right thing to do in a practice in which all procedures performed need to be under the master Provider of the practice.
