Some insurance programs require that the SOAP notes for the patient accompany the CMS-1500 insurance claim form. Since the clearing houses and insurance carriers are not yet equipped to receive the SOAP notes in an electronic format, this requires that the insurance claims be printed on paper. For those patients that require this option, it is set up in the Patient Insurance Policy window. Set the Form Type to CMS-1500 and place a check in the box labeled ChiroPad Notes. When the insurance claims are printed, ChiroSuiteEHR will ask if Claim Attachments should be printed. Answer Yes and the system will print the claims and then provide the time to change from the CMS-1500 form to plain paper. It will then print the SOAP notes for each claim.
