Late Charge

You may set the patient’s late charge as a percentage or a dollar amount, or you may decide to not charge late fees. Note that if you want to charge a late fee or penalty, under Federal regulations, the patient MUST be notified in advance. This requirement also demands that you have proof that the patient was informed. Make sure that each new patient signs a form in which it clearly states that the patient was informed that he/she will be charged a late fee or penalty if there is delinquency in payment.

Use HOH Information for Statements

If this patient is NOT the Head of Household (HOH) as identified on tab Patient Personal, then place a check in this box. When this box is checked, this patient’s monthly billing statement will be part of the statement for the head of household and will not be generated as a separate item.
