Delete Button

The Delete Button (figure 11) allows complaints to be deleted from the patient’s Subjective Complaint window. Simply click on the complaint and once it is highlighted, click on the Delete Button. A pop-up message will appear to confirm that it should really be done.

Note that Life Systems Software recommends that the Delete Button NOT be used. When a specific complaint no longer exists for the patient, it is advised to set the Status to No SmarText. This means that it will remain listed in the patient file but will not generate any text in the SOAP note. There are reasons to not delete items: [1] keep the patient file accurate; [2] if the complaint reoccurs then simply update the file; and [3] legal considerations.
