Co-pay

The Co-Pay is the amount, usually displayed on the patient’s Insurance Card, that the patient is supposed to pay at the time of each office visit. The co-pay is defined by the patient’s insurance policy. This may be a fixed (dollar) amount, or a percentage of the fee charged by the practice, depending on the patient’s policy. Please note that if a Remaining Amount has been entered for the Deductible, the Transaction window will take the outstanding remaining deductible and combine it with the copay when automatically calculating the amount that the patient should pay on the current visit.
